photo for larger version. The Big Cabin aka Right Field. This cabin is NOT livable, but is refurbisable according to a few contractors I've had look at it. It will need to be jacked up, the ground leveled (the floor inside is bulged up in the middle about 2-2.5 feet high), and a foundation put in. The logs are reinforced with rebar. The roof is raw log, covered in insulating foam, and was once tarred. The tar has mostly worn off, a new layer of foam and new tar will rectify the roof. Sod could then be placed on top of the tar to regain that rustic sod-roof look. I currently use it for storage. This cabin is not heated, but does have electric, and there is a drip stove in there. |
