Go back The Pitchers' Penthouse See Who (what) is On Deck

I might be their master and I might take care of them and feed them, etc. - but do not be mistaken!!!! They call the shots in a way. These guys come first, so they hit the fouls and the home runs. If they are not happy, I am not happy. My life would be so empty without them.

This is the man of the House! Emit is my baby. Rotweiller and..... Wolfhoud-ish something mix! People have called him 'funny looking', but to me he is a beautifully handsome companion.

He is a character all his own with a personality much like any sitcom with 'the dorky guy' on it!

He's not stupid though, so don't let his "DUH' looks and 'blonde-like' actions fool you. He is actually quite smart, and we have a means of communication all our own. A real connection.

This is Princess. She IS the BOSS. To see them together and watch the way Emit run's over her, knocks her down, pushes her out of the way, you wouldn't think she holds much importance. But when she's fed up with his nonsense, she'll kick his butt and put him in his place in a heart beat, even now at 13 yrs old!!!

She is so tolerant of his shenanigans. She truly is a little Princess. From her manerisms to her little dainty prance, to the the fact that you must lift her into the truck.

(Update: Princess died 24 July 2001 - only 10 days after winning the "Most Mature Dog" at the 1st annual Mutt March - we will always miss her)
Emit thinks he is a lap dog......he is also terrified of thunderstonms. This was during one such afternoon thunderstom when we lived in Florida!

You wouldn't think they want anything to do with each other to watch them in their daily life.... but the truth is, you cannot separate them, they're really bonded buddies. I've seen them defend each other as well as defend me!

This is where we can be found any time the temps go over 80 degrees...... which summer 1999 was every day for almost 3 weeks! But summer 2000 we didn't go even once.

It's not Hawaii, but it's our beach, I can take the dogs, it's not crowded, and we like it there! It's the old gravel pit out behind the Airport.

A cooler full of Zima and Gatorade, the boom box, parked parallel with a dog tied on each end of the truck so they can get in the water, and just enough grass nearby so they can do what dogs do and it can be easily spotted and cleaned up when we leave. I really treasure these summer days!

BTW that fugly rack on the truck I designed and had made for us in Florida for the move back to Alaska. It's designed for the kids. Our NEW truck might get one too!!! I guess we gave to get the title first, then get it running. Well..... it runs... runs great..... but at this very moment it won't move. The tires are bald as KoJack, and can't even get out of it's parking spot. Why try... no damned title (whole other story) so no reason to move it yet! Hopefully I'll be driving it before too much longer!

If I had to choose unused words to further describe Emit.... he is.... Emit! He's quite a character. He makes me laugh, sometimes too hard! Even at almost 8 years old sometimes you would swear he's a newborn pup. Tripping over his own feet, running into walls, falling off the tailgate, even sometimes chasing a tail he hasn't had for 3 years! I don't know what I would do without these two in my life.
