"Fans came from all over the country and I am so thankful for their support of me and my race team. These fans are what racing is all about. It feels great to be able to give something back to them. I'm glad the fans came"

I became a Rusty Wallace fan by default, as my ex-husband was an avid Rusty fan.  We watched NASCAR every Sunday without fail.  Of course I always wanted Rusty to win, but that's not how I became a fan for real.  This is the Tribute section, not 'fan pages'.  I will never claim to know 'all that' about Rusty and I sure know a lot less now than I did when I first put together my Rusty Wallace pages in 1998.

The tribute is to Rusty's character.  I have never seen him lose his temper to another driver.  That's not saying he never has, but it never made any news I watched.  IMHO Rusty is a gentleman competitor.  He's out there to win, and out there driving to compete, but he's a good sport, and that's always meant a lot to me.
