GriefNet is a wonderful site for those in
need of grief support. Obviously for those of us with issues of grief,
but that's not all they do. Please go visit by clicking on the title image,
and browse around to get a better idea if GriefNet is for you or someone
you know. I would personally suggest viewing the guestbook and memorials
to give a visual introduction to GriefNet.
I originally signed on to Grief-SIDS and Grief-Birth Mothers as I lost
my daughter to SIDS in DEC 1992, and my son had to be given up for adoption
at birth in DEC 1993. I had not yet dealt with losing one....now I had
to deal with losing two. It doesn't matter that so much time has passed,
the pain is still there and I still miss them both.
When I decided that support groups really weren't my cup of tea, but
I still wanted to be a part of GriefNet, I became a volunteer Memorial
designer. Everyone at GriefNet is a volunteer. Since then I had taken time
off from volunteering to work on a novel, and my own two sites. It felt
so good to help others deal with the losses of their loved ones, even if
it was only with pretty pictures. ;) Before I knew it I was right back
in the thick of it with Grief Net. I couldn't stay away, I needed them,
and it felt like they needed me.
I am now the Director of Visibility for GriefNet and KIDSAID,
the Webmaster for KIDSAID, and the Ringmaster of the Simony
Web Ring.
Cendra Lynn, Ph.D. is the Founder of Grief Net
"GriefNet grew out of a paper publication ........ creation of the Internet
coincided with growth of my interest and GriefNet was the result."

real story behind KIDSAIDI no longer work for Grief Net at all
or do any of their design work, I'm sorry. Long story, bitter blood.
Hint: if you use volunteers, don't use them, don't take advantage
of them, and don't take them for granted.... it's volunteer work. |
