CYA - Cover Your Ass (yes, I actually met someone who didn't know what that meant!)

Paranoid?  No - seasoned..... TOO many times I've been burnt due to misunderstanding.  TOO many times I'm chastized for not beign clear.  TOO many times my intentions were mistaken to mean something they didn't.

I have been learning the hard way every angle to have to cover my ass for as long as I can remember.  So yeah, I'm a little defensive. And I've been harshly accused of being defensive, regularly, even recently.  So yes... I guess I am..... however DUH - what does the word mean? 

noun: defensive attitude

1. An attitude of defense; especially in the phrase "on the defensive"

adjective: defensive

1. Intended or appropriate for defending against or deterring aggression or attack
2. Attempting to justify or defend in speech or writing
3. Serving as or appropriate for defending or protecting

Well... I suppose if I didn't feel threatened... I wouldn't be so defensive!
