5 Steps to Salvation
Knowing people aren't going to take the time to run and fetch their Bible, or look it up on the net, all verses referenced here are provided. They will pop up in a small window, and each subsequential verse will open in that window if left open. The resource for these verses is BibleGateway.org, however I often have troubles with their website loading.
Do you believe that you're going to heaven?
  • yes
  • no
  • i hope so
  • i'm not sure

If it is one of these, then why do you believe that answer?

Many people who do not really know the Word of God would give these kinds of answers:

If your answer was any of those, then this might surprise you but according to the Bible none of the above answers can or will get someone into Heaven.
1 John 5:13

There is one and only one way to get into Heaven.

First let's consider some very important questions:
Q: What kind of words would you use to describe Jesus? Would it be any of these:

  1. Great
  2. Loving
  3. Kind
  4. Forgiving
  5. Perfect
  6. All Powerful
  7. All Knowing
  8. Faithful
  9. Merciful
  10. Compassionate

Now according to the Bible all of the above answers are correct. God has every one of these qualities.

But the same Bible also says that God is:

Q: Next, what kind of words would you use to describe man? Would they be something like this:

  1. Basically Good
  2. Righteous
  3. Kind
  4. Giving
  5. Loving
  6. Destructive
  7. Unfaithful
  8. Proud
  9. Greedy
  10. Selfish

Again, this might surprise you, but according to the Bible only the answers numbered 6-10 of the above list are correct.

But the same Bible also says that man is:

The Bible Concludes:

It is impossible for this kind of perfect God (totally good, perfectly holy, 100% righteous, and unable to lie) to live with this kind of man (not good, unholy, disobedient, and dishonest.)

Sinful man could never live with a Holy God, not even for a second. 1 Peter 2:9, 1 John 1:5

The Problem

God determined the just punishment for sin was death (eternal separation from His presence).  Ezekial 18:4, Isaiah 59:2

Since all men have sinned, they all deserve to be punished. Romans 3:23
But God did not want to send man to hell. 2 Peter 3:9

Q: In light of this problem, how do you personally hope to get to Heaven?

The Solution

God devised a plan that placed the death penalty for sin on the only person in the universe who could take man's place.

GOD HIMSELF, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Hebrews 2:9, John 1:1, 14

Though Jesus didn't deserve it, he suffered and died on the cross in our place, providing the only way for man kind to have eternal life and go to Heaven. John 17:3, II Corinthians 5:21, John 14:6

Christ's death and resurection enables us to be forgiven for our sins and gives us the power to no longer be controlled by sin. 1 John 3:8, John 1:12

Conclusion

God will only give eternal life to those who:

When you turn from your sins and trust in Jesus, there will be a supernatural change in your heart which the Bible calls, being "born again". John 3:3

Good works will never, with out a dought, ever get any one into Heaven.
Titus 3:5

Q: Are you willing to turn away from your sins and completely trust in Jesus Christ?

Obtain that Salvation or How to be Saved

To receive what Jesus Christ has done for you, you must willingly :

  1. Stop trusting in your own efforts to please God and begin to trust in what Jesus Christ has already done. Proverbs 28:26, Proverbs 3:5-6
  2. Ask him to forgive you for your sins. 1 John 1:9
  3. Invite him to come and live inside of you. Revelation 3:20
  4. Ask him to take his rightful place as Lord and God of your life. Romans 10:9-10, Philimon 1:22
  5. Turn away from what ever the Bible says is sin. (This is only possible after Christ has come to live inside of you.) Acts 3:19, John 1:12

You may invite Jesus into your heart by saying the following prayer. (It is very important that only do this is you really mean it 100%, so please, mean it.... if you are not sincere, He knows.) Romans 10:9-10

Jesus... I want to stop trusting in my self and what I can do, and start trusting in you and what you have already done when you died for me on the cross. I know that I am a sinner...and I am sorry for my sins. I ask you to forgive me, and I invite you to come and live inside of me. I want you to be my Savior, and my Lord, which means you being first in my life. I want to repent and turn away from everything you and the bible call sin, and I totally commit my self to obeying you every day for the rest of my life.

Now In order for your new personal relationship with God to grow, it is essential that you:

  1. Spend some time each and every day praying and worshiping God.
    I Thessalonians 5:17-8
  2. Read the bible daily (for you newbies it is probably best to begin with the Gospel of John) I Peter 2:2
  3. Find a church that teaches the Bible as 100% the Word of God, and encourages a personal relationship with Jesus. Hebrews 10:25
  4. Begin to develop Friendships with sincere Christians.  I John 1:7
  5. Tell other people about your new relationship with God. Matthew 4:19

There, now I hope that this helped you out and that when you were reading this, and if you were not Born Again already, you gave your life to Jesus. Living for God makes a world of difference. In fact it will decide your eternal fate. Did you know you have the power to decide your fate.

You reap your own eternity. You can either go to Heaven or to Hell. It has already been explained how you can make it to either one of those places, so I won't go into it now.

Remember Jesus Loves you ~ whether you ever acknowledge Him or not... and you can't make him stop... no matter how bad you are or no matter how hard you try. He will always love us.  US... all mankind.

That includes you whether you like it or not!!!
How is it possible to even live without Faith??

First and foremost I did not WRITE the contents above.  I found them.  I did a search for "Joey Winters".  A guy I knew once when I was in the USAF.  Something on TV made his name pop in my head.  I didn't know him long, I wouldn't even say I knew him.  I met him and we spent a few days together before he got out of the AF.

Anyhoo..... since I personally do not believe things just happen, and everything happens for a reason, and that we need to be fully aware of everything that does happen to us lest we miss a message.... finding this page compelled me to save it for my own reasons and reference if nothing else. Also, there were several errors in the verse references which, by looking them up, I have corrected.

Why?  Why not... even Christians need reference materials and reminders!! And though the author means well... And... we all know I'm a little anal retentive.... and in cyber-speak he does a lot of yelling.  All caps is perceived as YELLING... and IMHO the LAST thing you ever want to subject a non believer to is the shoving of The Word down ones Throat and that is followed VERY closely by.... YELLING!!!  So my own anal retentive tendance compells me to change case so it's more reader friendly!

As usual however.... everything is published and public here.  The page meta tag says the author is John B.Smith. You can view the original page and the owner's site and the original version. This version is alterd to hold the information only and all personal references have been ripped out.
